What if Albert Einstein Was Put on Ritalin?
by Jens Korgaard, D.C.

Did you know that Albert Einstein, one of our greatest geniuses of our century did not speak until he was four years old and didn't read until he was seven. A teacher described him as "mentally slow, unsociable and adrift in foolish dreams."

But Einstein was not the only great person to be labeled as backward or a misfit. Thomas Edison's teachers said he was too stupid to learn anything. Isaac Newton did poorly in grade school and Winston Churchill failed the sixth grade. As a child, Beethoven was a poor violinist. Instead of playing other peoples' music, he preferred to play his own compositions. Yet his teacher called him hopeless as a composer.

If these luminaries were children today, they would probably be put on Ritalin. Ritalin has become the darling and the drug of choice for many so-called educators. All too often, whenever a child has an attention problem or is too active, which is often labeled as "hyperactivity," he or she is put on Ritalin to help "normalize them."

One of the problems with Ritalin is that it is a very dangerous and highly addictive drug. Under Federal law, Ritalin is classified as a Schedule II controlled substance, with the same rating given to cocaine, opium and morphines.

Once children are finally taken off of the drug, the withdrawal symptoms can be severe, and can include depression, fatigue, paranoia, bed wetting, irritability and suicide.

It is ironic at a time when the federal and local governments and school systems decry the use of street drugs by school aged children that they would want to force a highly addictive drug down the throats of young, unsuspecting children.

Another major problem with Ritalin is that it robs children of what makes them unique. It robs them of spontaneity, imagination and creativity.

There is a genius in all of us that is trying to get out. As a chiropractor, I get to experience this genius every day as I witness the healing and regenerative powers of the human body and spirit at work every day.

How many future leaders of the next generation will we lose to Ritalin? What if the child who would have eventually grown up to find a cure for cancer is instead drugged into mental dullness and conformity? How many Einsteins, Churchills and Beethovens will we sacrifice in our desire to make our children docile?

If your child is on Ritalin or someone you know is, I invite you to attend my free program "The Ritalin Controversy - What you can do to keep your child off Ritalin." This program will teach you about Ritalin's side effects. How Ritalin is marketed to doctors and parents to ensure it's maximum consumption by your child. Also how nerve system interference can be corrected without drugs and how to create a wellness environment that supports your families optimum health and development.

To reserve a place at the next workshop, or sponsor one, contact us by phone or email. There are no attachments or obligations with these wonderfully informative sessions. This is part of our commitment to create a healthier drug free world for the next generation.
